Install Public Witness Scheduler as an app

You can install Public Witness Scheduler on your phone or tablet so it opens from a home-screen icon just like any other app. On Android it runs with its own app chrome and splash screen. On iPhone it opens in full screen without the Safari bars. No app store is involved — it installs directly from the website.

Install on Android (Chrome or Edge)

On most modern Android phones, Chrome will offer to install the app automatically the first time you visit.

Open Chrome (or Edge) on your Android device.
Go to pws.peninsulalogic.com and sign in if you want.
If Chrome shows an Install app banner or prompt, tap it and confirm.
If you don't see a prompt, tap the three-dot menu in the upper right, then tap Install app or Add to Home screen.
Confirm by tapping Install.

Tip: The exact wording varies by device. Anything that says "Install", "Install app", or "Add to Home screen" will work.

Install on iPhone or iPad (Safari)

Apple requires Safari for this step. Chrome and other iPhone browsers cannot install home-screen apps.

Open Safari on your iPhone or iPad.
Go to pws.peninsulalogic.com.
Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up).
Scroll down in the share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen.
Confirm the name — "PWS" works well — and tap Add.

Tip: If Add to Home Screen isn't in the share sheet, tap Edit Actions at the bottom of the share sheet and enable it.

Opening and using the installed app

Return to your home screen and tap the new PWS icon.
The app opens with a short splash screen and then shows the sign-in page or home page.
Use it exactly like you would in a browser — all the same pages, shifts, and calendar views are available.

Note on sign-in: The installed app uses the same secure login as the website. If you are asked to sign in again later, that is normal and expected.

Using a different browser?

If you use Firefox, Samsung Internet, or another browser that doesn't offer a full install, you can still place a home-screen shortcut that opens PWS quickly. The shortcut won't have its own splash screen or standalone app chrome, but it works the same way otherwise.

Updates, offline behavior, and removal

Updates happen automatically the next time you open the app with a signal. There is nothing to download manually.
No signal? You will see a branded offline screen asking you to reconnect. Current schedule data requires a connection.
To remove the app on Android, long-press the icon and choose Uninstall or drag it to the trash. On iPhone, long-press the icon and choose Remove App → Delete from Home Screen.
